About Melanie

I am a freelance Make up and hair artist with previous experience of Weddings, Photoshoots, Editorials, Press Junkets, re discover make up sessions, TV editorial, Film premieres and more

My passions in life are creativity, colour, texture, art and people, combining this with a love of making women feel great about themselves led me to a career in the make up industry.

I worked for many years as a skin care consultant for an Australian skin care brand and now work alongside Neals Yard and Dr Haushka which enables me to express my love of organic skin care, I can hold pamper sessions with groups of women in their own homes and introduce them to wonderful products and a little bit of time for themselves.

I also spent some time working as a personal stylist in a boutique and was able to see first hand the confidence a woman gains when she feels great in a new outfit and I feel make up is just the same, like putting on a new outfit, and changing it as often as you like. It is indeed true if you look great you feel great!

Bridal make up is a real passion of mine, I love making women feel beautiful on their special day and sharing that precious time with them.  I am based in Cheshire, You will see however from my portfolio that I have travelled far and wide to work at a wedding. I work with a beautiful wedding venue in Prestbury Hilltop Country House.

I recently trained with Claire Hanson celebrity Hair and make up artist and love to spend time in London learning new skills and techniques. I was a part of Claire’s core Make up team for 2 years working in London and Europe and assisting in teaching her students. The make up world is constantly evolving and we see new products all the time. I like to be the first to know when something amazing is happening.

As well as bridal make up I also enjoy doing rediscover make up days with ladies who may be stuck in a make up rut or are bamboozled by the hundreds of products around. More about these can be found here http://www.melaniemeikmakeup.co.uk/about/rediscover-make-up-sessions/

I am available for prom make up, tutorial sessions, and regularly work with a photographer on portraits as well as developing my role in fashion make up. I also enjoy developing work with cancer patients through ladies days at hospices and the beauty industries charity Look Good Feel Better as well as one to one make up sessions, helping patients to look great and feel better.
